Hey friends! It has been a while since I have posted on here! Firstly, I just want to say HAPPY 2020! Yes, I know I am late, but I hope this new year has been off to a great start for you all!
With the newness the year brings, I have a pull to do some changing. This little blog is a fun, and freeing way for me to write and connect with others. So I feel like I need to do a little changing to it.
For so long I have been so afraid of what to write. Afraid that it may come off boring, preachy, or whatever. I guess for all of 2019 I let fear freeze my joy of writing. So I just stopped. I stopped writing what was on my heart, and boy was it exhausting! Continue reading “Things Are Changing”→
I turned 30 last Wednesday and I decided to reflect and list thirty things I’ve learned over the years. I’m not going to lie I have been so down about saying goodbye to my twenties. They were filled with pain, heartache, growth, new life not just in giving birth 5 times, but new life for me as well. I’ve been stretched and pulled in many different ways. I walked a thousand different paths in trying to find myself.
I flailed and fought through college in a career path that wasn’t for me. I learned quickly in A&P after poking and prodding with a cadaver whose name I cannot remember — that the body had way too many body parts and muscles, and bones that I care to even begin to try and name. I realized that path just wasn’t for me. So I dropped out, cue the violin music and feeling like a failure. I couldn’t quite figure out what my “calling” was. “Oh you are still young it will come to you.” Continue reading “An Ode to My Twenties & 30 Things I’ve Learned Since Turning Thirty”→
(Special YouTube video of our trip is included. Trust me you don’t want to miss it!)
I had an exciting opportunity to be one of the firsts to ride the all new Ridge Rambler that launches at Anakeesta later this month. My husband had to work, so I only brought my three older kids with me, ages 4, 6, & 8). My mother in law graciously kept my younger two. This was the perfect trip before they go back to school!
I’ve been meaning to share some news with you all on something big I got to contribute to.!
Two years ago I was given a very humbling opportunity to contribute in a devotional Bible by (in)courage! I was beyond honored and so excited. I prayed and prayed over the devotionals I typed out, and how they would correlate with the specific chapters of the Bible that I chose. It was such a fun experience seeing it all come together. I don’t think it hit me that I was getting to be part of such a fun project!
In this post I shared a lot of news. And in the midst of it all I received my copy of the new devotional Bible. It published last year! I can’t even explain how it felt holding it in my hands. It was all such a huge labor of love from so many women, especially the (in)courage team! To see it all come into fruition was nothing short of amazing. If you have seen my nursery blog post for my baby girl then you know how excited I was! We have never had the space for a nursery so when we moved into this house that was a huge deal for me creating a nursery I dreamed of to welcome our baby. But you know in motherhood things rarely go as planned. She ended up having really bad acid reflux and I found myself so worried. So she has been in a our room near us. I have been holding this in for months now, and I am so excited to explain it.
Her name is Sariyah Rose. You can find her birth story and photos here.
Now to fully understand you have to know the backstory, and that this is something God Himself created. It was back in August of 2018. Around 10 weeks one night at work I ran to the bathroom throwing up. I remember crying in defeat from continuously being sick.
I am so excited to announce that I had my baby girl Friday, April 5th 2019. This is my first time doing a birth story so I’m pretty ecstatic! There’s just something so exhilarating about reliving those special moments leading up to bringing your baby into this world.
Meet Sariyah Rose.
Born on 4/5/19 at 11:50am 8lbs.4oz and 18 3/4 inches!
